Programs that Support Equity, Inclusion, and Access for All
The Children's Museum of Green Bay ensures that every child has the opportunity to play, learn, and grow. We are dedicated to making our resources accessible to all through the following programs:
1. Children of Promise
- Offers free or reduced daily admission and annual memberships for economically disadvantaged families.
- Provides discounted field trip rates for schools in the Green Bay Area Public School District (GBAPS).
2. Outreach with Local Shelters
- Funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and supported by the Women’s Fund of the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation.
- Delivers free educational programming, project kits, and museum memberships to children and families at three local homeless and domestic violence shelters.
- Supports nearly 1,000 children annually, addressing gaps in social-emotional development and classroom engagement.
3. Outreach with 21st Century Community Learning Centers – GBAPS After School Sites
- Provides 60-minute STEAM programs for kindergarten through 5th grade students, aligned with Common Core and Wisconsin Model Academic Standards.
- Offers critical educational enrichment in after-school settings, helping overcome challenges such as limited resources and untrained staff.
4. Sensory Friendly Night
- Sponsored by Prevea/HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital.
- A free monthly event that creates a supportive environment for children with special needs and their families, featuring adjusted lighting, reduced noise, and sensory-friendly activities.
5. EAT (Easy, Affordable, Tasty)
- A free event that fosters positive interactions between families and law enforcement.
- Offers a healthy meal, museum playtime, and opportunities for families to connect with police officers through activities and conversations.
- A cherished program with over 10 years of service.
6. Blue Star Museum
- Provides free museum admission for active military members and their families from Armed Forces Day to Labor Day, including National Guard and Reserve.
Through these programs, we strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all children and families, ensuring that our museum is a place where everyone can dream, learn, and thrive.
