STEAMworks Lab

and Education Center

  • With close to 7,000 children visiting annually through field trips (and over 50,000 field trip guests to date), and with weekly programs scheduled all year long, plus summer camps, STEAM Saturdays, and community partner program collaborations, this dedicated space will be fully educational.


  • This center will also serve as the STEAMworks Lab (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). With paper making, 3-D printing, virtual reality, robotics, and circuit training, this state-of-the-art lab will put the museum on the front edge of learning.



  • This 800 square foot space will be the central hub for our community partner collaborative activities with our new Tinker in the Trades and STEAMworks programming initiatives.
STEAMworks

Trades in Training

in partnership with the K.C. Stock Family Foundation and NWTC

  • Already under planning with Kidzibits, this new exhibit will be a spotlight for the local trades, helping introduce plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and masonry to our visitors.



  • The US Department of Education finds that across the next five years, there will be 68% more job openings in the infrastructure-related fields, with shortage of workers to fill them.

Dairy and Agriculture

  • A day on the farm is showcased through key exhibit features including milking a cow, bailing hay, monitoring a pregnant pig, and discovering crops stored in the silo for the livestock.



  • Guests learn about sustainable farming practices and the importance of maintaining healthy environments.

18ft  Climber


  • This new 18 foot climbing structure will reflect the importance of one of the largest segments of manufacturing in Northeast Wisconsin.

  • Imagine children diving into blueprints, building with real tools, and experimenting with nuts and bolts—learning how things come together through active play.

  • One of the most exciting parts of the exhibit is the extensive Lego play area, complete with battery packs that let kids make their inventions MOVE!


It's a space designed to ignite curiosity and inspire the builders, artists, and engineers of tomorrow.

Splash! Water Gallery

  • Children can learn about water energy and experiment with controlling the direction and speed of flow in the tri-level water table, complete with a Leo Frigo bridge.



  • The interactive overhead rain spout, splash pad floor, and boat building station make this exhibit a favorite of guests.

Our Town Gallery

  • This multi-exhibit gallery will return to its original splendor with updated facades and new interactives including streetlights, benches, and stop lights.

Outdoor Discovery Center

  • This fully enclosed outdoor green space encourages unstructured play and includes a mud hut, adventure beams, discovery garden, sensory wall and walk, Fort Howard play zone, and sandbox.



  • The outdoor education center provides the perfect space for exploration and learning during classes, camps, and programs.
