Reaching New Heights

"Play is the way that children learn what no one can teach them. It is the way they explore and orient themselves to the actual world of space and time, of things, animals, structures and people. Play is the child's work."

- L.K. Franks

After 14 years of inspiring curiosity and wonder in Northeast Wisconsin, The Children’s Museum of Green Bay is ready to soar to new heights. Serving over 70,000 guests each year, our museum has become a cornerstone of childhood development and community enrichment. However, our current location has reached its limits. The growing demand for our interactive exhibits and educational programs is stretching our resources thin and hampering our ability to fully embrace every visitor who walks through our doors.

This is why we are launching an ambitious expansion campaign. Our new location, directly across from Bay Beach, promises to transform the museum into a vibrant, expansive haven where imagination and learning flourish. This move will not only alleviate current space constraints but will also enhance our capacity to engage and educate even more children and families.

With this expansion, we aim to:

  • Enhance Visitor Experience: Provide a larger, more dynamic space with innovative exhibits and interactive learning zones.
  • Foster Community Engagement: Create new programs and partnerships that deepen our connection with the community.
  • Ensure Long-Term Sustainability: Strengthen our financial stability and organizational continuity to serve future generations.

How You Can Help: We invite you to be part of this exciting journey by contributing to our expansion campaign. Your support will help us continue to nurture the boundless curiosity of every child who steps through our doors. There are many ways to get involved:

  • Make a Donation: Every gift, big or small, brings us one step closer to making our dream a reality.
  • Become a Sponsor: Partner with us to bring new, cutting-edge exhibits and programs to life.
  • Spread the Word: Share our mission with your friends, family, and colleagues to help us reach even more people who care about the future of our children.
  • Join an Event: Participate in special fundraising events where you can celebrate with us and contribute to this exciting expansion.

Together, we can build a brighter future—one playful discovery at a time.

The Case for Children's Museums

"Children's museums are more than just places of learning; they are the heartbeats of our communities. They serve as vibrant town squares where social connections are forged and social capital is built. For families and children, these museums offer a unique, interactive environment where meaningful connections are made and lifelong memories are created."

Children's Museums give you an opportunity to dream...

Do you remember the dreams of your childhood? Perhaps you envisioned yourself as a heroic firefighter, an innovative builder, or a caring doctor. These dreams weren't just fantasies—they were the seeds of who you would become. For many of us, the ability to dream is a given, a natural part of growing up. But for countless children facing poverty and hardship, dreaming is a distant and often unreachable luxury.

When every day is marked by struggle and survival, the light of imagination can easily be overshadowed by the harshness of reality. In these circumstances, dreams and aspirations can be stifled, and the future can seem limited. Where can these children find a space to explore the wonders of science, the beauty of the arts, or the thrill of new possibilities?

The Children’s Museum of Green Bay offers a vital sanctuary—a place where children can momentarily escape their daily challenges and immerse themselves in a world of discovery and imagination. For a precious hour or so, they can step away from their struggles and enter a realm where dreams are not only possible but encouraged. Here, children are free to explore, imagine, and envision a future filled with hope and potential.

Our museum is much more than a place to play; it is a community cornerstone. It provides a safe, engaging, and affordable environment where families can connect and learn together. This vital role is recognized by respected local organizations such as Casa ALBA Melanie, Green Bay Area Public Schools, and the Brown County Library, which have chosen The Children’s Museum of Green Bay as a partner in introducing children from all backgrounds to the wonders of learning.

Every vibrant and thriving community needs a space where dreams are nurtured and imagination is celebrated. By supporting The Children’s Museum of Green Bay, you help ensure that every child has the opportunity to dream big, explore their passions, and reach their fullest potential.

Together, we can create a future where every child’s dreams have a chance to take flight.

Exhibits

Exhibits at the museum are specifically designed and created to align with the Wisconsin State Standards, Common Core, and Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards (WMELS). Exhibits often take over a year to design and develop, then a year to build to ensure that they are constructed to the highest standards to hold up to over 150,000 visitors. This process takes time to ensure that we are creating the space necessary for a child's imagination, mind, and body to go to work. Play is work for a young mind, and it's through play that children learn about the world they live in.
